Winchester Triple Seven Primers are specifically designed for Muzzleloading and are milder than typical 209 Shotshell Primers. Milder primers do not force the powder charge forward, helping to maintain consistent velocities and minimize formation of crud rings. These primers are rigorously tested for consistency and sensitivity at temperatures and conditions far beyond the range of normal usage. These primers guarantees better sensitivity for more positive firing in all guns, consistency in size and quality and stability in extremes of temperatures and humidity. These primers are not designed to be used in shotshells, they are for muzzleloading rifles only.
Primer orders ship separately and may arrive at a later date. A separate HazMat charge per order will apply. Primers ship ground freight to the Continental U.S. only. 70 lb max per order. Due to safety considerations and legal/regulatory reasons, Primers may not be returned. Check local regulations.
How to determine the efficiency of a winchester primers
If you are going to do this, it is important that you buy the ammo first. Typically, if you are going to change the primers out, you will have to purchase brass ammo specifically intended for your brand of pistol. However, there are several brands of ammo available, such as boxer, steel, and hollow point, so you should not have a problem finding ammo.
After you have your new primers, you will need to find someplace to mount them. One option is to place them on your muzzle. You can do this by drilling into your barrel at an angle and then adding the primers directly to the end of the rifle. For best results, make sure that the primers are of the same size as your barrel.
